Carrier Problem with iPhone Reservation & AT&T Prepaid Line

So I tried to reserve a phone at Midnight pacific last night, but I got the generic "Your phone has been reserved" message. I just got an email that I can proceed with my order, but when I enter my phone number, and last 4 of ssn, i get this error:

"Account type not supported.

We're sorry. Your existing plan isn't an eligible iPhone plan. You can contact your carrier to keep your current phone number. You can also create a new account at Apple store"

The Apple Store did that to me when I followed through their account verification step. I just went to Verizon and bought it in full. Worse case scenario is, you activate the phone to use for 1 month on Verizon then disconnect and swap with your AT&T SIM, which should work.
