Hello,

I'm facing a really weird problem with my mac mini unibody. I tried upgrading the RAMs from 2x1gb to 2x4gb. I tried the Kingston's 2x4GBs and the mini didnt boot it just kept beeping so I replaced 1 chip with my old RAM and the mini worked fine and it showed that I have 5GB. That also happened when I switched the other new 4GB RAM back in with an old 1gb..!!

Here's the details that came with the RAMS

Memory Kit: 2x 4GB
Module Pin count: 204-pin
Memory Herartion: DDR3
Module Speed: PC3-8500, DDR3-1066
MHz of Module: 1066MHz
Latency of Module: CL7
KTA-MB1066K2/8GB
DIMM TYPE: Sodim, Do-Dimm, Small Outline DIMM

Any Help?

There are other threads where people talk about some RAM that just will not work in Macs. I upgraded mine with OWC RAM and it shows 8GB and works just fine.

You must verify with seller to you if it in fact is guaranteed to work with a Mac Mini 2010. If they won't do that return it and go to OWC or Ramjet-I have had good luck with both of these vendors who stand behind what they sell you.

Yeah but the seller said that they work fine with my mini, the problem is that both of the RAMs work fine with an older 1gb but somehow they just do not work together! Isnt that weird?!

Any help is appreciated please im really stuck here!!

I'm no genius on this, but if they don't work in pairs out of the box, then they don't work irregardless of what the seller says. RMA those and buy from someone else.
