I am having a pretty good FSX experience overall on my new Mac Pro with the 8800GT video card.

One problem however is that I'm forced to exit and restart FSX for each new flight. If I do a flight, then end it, and try then to start another I get the 'Loading Terrain Data' message (as usual) but at about 30-40% loaded the program just hangs and the only way out is Ctrl/Alt/Del to Task Manager then End Task.

The same thing happens when I change aircraft or location mid flight too.

Other than this, it all works fine. By the way I have SP1 loaded but no other addons at all. It's a clean install.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep having the same issue. Installed XP, Patched fully. Installed FSX. Same issue. I'm kinda disappointed, I expected it to run very well on my Mac Pro.

If you install SP2 the loading issue goes away but the graphics then look crap and the framerate goes to pot.

It's a good thing I get to use Mac OS for everything else I do.
