Hello, I have a problem with my macbook a1226, when I turn it on it displays a flashing folder with a question mark. More strangely, when I hold down the option button while turning it on, it displays a white screen and a black cursor.
What are the solution methods?
Please, help

Macbook Pro A1226 is a 2007 MBP - At least that's what EveryMac is reporting. just in case people are wondering

displays a flashing folder with a question mark.
That means the Mac is unable to locate the operating system. Given the age of the computer and the type of storage. Its a safe bet your spinning hard drive is having issues, at the very least and at worst completely failed

Try booting into safe mode hold down the shift key on your keyboard as soon as you hear the Mac startup chime
