*problem With Macbook Pro Please Help*

Firts of, sorry for the caps. But I am seriously frustrated with my Macbook Pro.

This is the new aluminum 13inch model.
My audio and keyboard light doesn't work.

Audio, well I was watching videos with my headphones on.
I click on a video and there is no sound. I press the F12 button
to increase the sound and I see this. http://i48.tinypic.com/2h3ngc6.png
So now it doesn't matter what I press there is no sound whatsoever.
Except for when I turn the computer off and turn it back on and here
the booting up sound. I went to system preferences and sound. But I am
unable to do anything.

Now I did some research, and found that people are having the same problem as me. But they said that they see a red light in the audio port. (which I do not see) and they resolved this problem by simply putting a toothpick in to the port and flipping a black switch (which I also do not see). They said they have the black Macbook Pro. Which is an older model, so maybe that's why I do not see the black switch and the red light.

Backlit Keyboard, same thing. Only now when I press the 2 F5 and F6 buttons nothing happens. I see no image like I do with the sound. And this is truly frustrating. I also did some research and found out that people had the same problem. I didn't see any solutions, but I did see a suggestion. Which was to restart the SMC. But one of the steps to
restarting the SMC was to remove the battery. But I can't because the battery in my mac is not removable.

Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
 
Tried it, when I turned it on it went into a blue screen and froze.

So I did it again but this time used safeboot to get in.

And nothing.
 
Tried to PRAM, same thing goes into a blue screen a freezes.
So I had to get on with Safeboot again.

And created new user, same thing.
 
Did you try the Apple Hardware Test? Also try to do a reinstall and see if that helps. I know it's work and time consuming but I would rather try to do everything I can before I would send it off to Apple.

Yes, sending it to Apple is the last thing I wanna do.

How do I reinstall?
 
Did you, by any chance, restore the MBP from the Time Machine backup from another mac you own? I had the exact same problem when I restored my TM backup from a unibody macbook on a 13" uMBP, the audio and keyboard backlight wouldn't work. In that case you can simply clean install OS X from the disk, and everything should be fine.
 
... that must be it. Actually I'm not even sure what time machine really is or does. But I remember messing with it and maybe I accidently deleted it.
But I still have the time machine icon in the menu bar.

Now how do I install OS X? Do I just need to put in the disk, or do I have
to do something before I put in the disk?

As for the keyboard. This is a known "problem". On my mbp I used to be able to adjust the keyboard brightness. Now I can only do that in a darkened room when the keyboard lighting is activated. Otherwise that keyboard back light disabled sign appears. I'm not sure the reason for it. Possible update? not sure.

As for the sound, I'm not completely sure. At least there is a chime when the computer starts. Maybe an OS reinstall as a last resort. I'll look into it.

Pop in the disc. When something appears click install OS X.

Couldn't be simpler. :)

I'm not sure this will solve the keyboard "problem" but hopefully the sound will be restored.
