Problem with not receiving push notifications?

With my 3GS and iPhone 4 on iOS4, for some reason, sometimes I will not receive any push notifications until my phone is rebooted!
Is anyone else having this problem?
For example, I will be using TextNow (it happens with AIM too), and I will open the app to see that I have a new message, and wonder why I didn't get a push notification. So I reboot the phone, and THEN I get the notification that I missed.

I can't tell you why it happens, but an alternative way to refresh your missing pushes is to enter airplane mode and back.

I also don't get any push notification on yahoo messenger anymore after the upgrade to version OS4 and it is very annoying as I keep missing messages from my friends.
