Problem with Nvidia videocard driver update

Hello,

I've installed GTA IV on my macbook pro; late 2008 macbookpro, 256 mb video mem.
But Rockstar Games, the developer of GTA IV, adviced me to update the videocard drivers.

When I'm trying to install them, it says that the software can't find any hardware in my notebook.

I installed bootcamp on my windows vista, the version that comes with the late 2008 macbook pro.

Does anyone know what there is going on?

Well, nVidia finally decided to start supporting mobile GPU drivers which you can download here:

If you want more updated (but maybe not as stable) drivers, go here:

I personally used the 184.80 drivers when GTA4 came out, this was on a MBP 8600m GT with 128mb of Vram... it ran half decent. Do not bother running at full resolution FWI, it will run like complete and utter sh**.

nVidia's drivers would probably be the most stable, while laptopvideo2go may have more performance tweaks. The most stable drivers on laptopvideo2go (in MY opinion) would be the 180.48 drivers.

Either way, good luck! GTA 4 for the PC is very buggy.

EDIT: The nVidia drivers are beta, so use them at your own risk. (There really is no high risk using them though...)

And there is where it go wrong, he can't instal the drivers..

Additional information;
When I'm on the Nvidia site, and automaticly check my drivers, it says:

Type: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
Driver version: 176.44
Info: The manufacturer of this system requires that you download the driver for your GPU from their support site.

... What? I am not following...

Download the drivers from nVidia's site first and see if that makes it run. Do not auto detect, just choose GeForce 9M series from the drop down, then choose the OS you are running (XP or Vista [also make sure you choose the correct architecture {32 bit or 64bit}]) then click search. Check the box to agree to the terms (this is a must...) then click download now and install them after the download finishes. This will/must work. If not, you are installing them incorrectly or nVidia messed up. I highly doubt nVidia messed up drivers that have been up for at least a month now.
