I've been having a problem with PostBox for many months where often, but not always, when I type in a TO or CC or BCC name into the respective field and then hit TAB instead of going to the next field, PostBox just repeats the email address in that field. If I hit TAB or ENTER again it just repeats the address again and again. To actually get to the next field, I have to totally delete whatever is on the TO, CC or BCC line and ... .try again...until PostBox acts as expected.

I've tried to contact the company via a bug report (several times) but they are totally unresponsive. No real way to contact these people!

After having shelled out $50 for this Postbox, I'm about to switch back to Thunderbird (even though the current TB version still lacks the ability to simply specify my "reply text color"), but wanted to ask here first if anyone has encountered this PostBox issue I described above.

I've tried deleting and re-creating the email contacts when this bug happens in PostBox. The problem isn't limited to just one contact.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

If you're using Gmail, I highly recommend Mimestream. It's a Mac app specifically designed to work with Gmail. It's in beta, but it's pretty far along and quite stable. The guy who develops it used to work for Apple. Been using it day to day at work and it's really great.

No, I'm "Google-free" (overall, everywhere). That's not the issue.

The issue is when entering regular email addresses that repeat over and over on the same line when I hit TAB or ENTER.

Thanks.

I am using Postbox too, but I don’t have this problem (I just tried to make sure). Could it be some setting?
Since the problem is intermittent, I'm not sure what setting it could be. The support from the company is non-existent. There is no way to contact anyone there. I wish I could get a refund. Too late now...

Moving back to Thunderbird.

Maybe you already have tried, but I was able to contact them successfully via this web page (was a while ago though):

Sure, you can "report an issue", and I did several times. The issue is that they just never respond and the issue never gets fixed. A simple chat system or possibly a forum site would remedy this. (Maybe even a tech support phone number? Shocking idea, I know...)

Thanks for your note. :)

I'm talking about having a separate reply color from the regular email text color.

So, when you "write" an email it's black, typically. But, when you reply to an email, you can pick the (separate) color and font you want for that.
Have you tried suggesting that to the developers? Their official Twitter account is very active.

Yes, I've asked in the past. I don't use Twitter, however but maybe that would work better.

Thanks

Same... just tested and do not have the issue reported by OP...

Issue could be anywhere... a rogue setting in Postbox, some sort of keyboard text replacement setting... doubtful it's related to an entry in your contacts app...

Not particularly helpful. Regardless of whether or not your tool is "specifically designed" for anything, that does not address the OP's question or issue.
