I have the oddest problem with Preview. If I selected 50 photos to open with Preview, invariably Preview will open up the two windows. One window will have 5-6 of the photos, and the other window will have the other 44-45 photos. I want to have them all in a single window so that I can have a slide show.

How can I get it so Preview won't do this?

Also, is there any way to change the slide duration? Preview moves through them very fast. Long ago Apple allowed this to be controlled but sadly as far as I can tell, have taken away this option. Apple knows best.

Thanks for your help.

If they open in separate windows, you can combine them, Window > Merge All Windows

In preferences you have the option: 'when opening files open all files in one window'
