Connected to my Mac mini (end 2012) is a Samsung 32" SD850 monitor (using Displayport).
When switching the system on, everything always works fine for some random period (sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes, sometimes even a couple of hours). Then suddenly the screen turns black. There is only a slight periodic (1 Hz) flickering of black to dark-gray. Also the power-on led of the monitor will go blinking.
When switching the monitor off for a minute or so and then back on, sometimes everything is ok again (for a random period of time), but most of the times it stays black.
Restarting the Mac always solves the problem.
I have disabled all power saving settings on both the Mac and the monitor.
Can anyone tell me if this problem is a Mac problem or a monitor problem, hardware/software ?
