Hello,

I've using RAID 0 (2 x 3TB disks) since day 1 of my Hackintosh but recently I've been stumbling upon some problems.

It started last week when I was having some problems reading stuff from the RAID. Everything was really slow and the spinning wheel of death occurred over and over again. After I while I couldn't even see the disks in finder (but I can still see them in Disk Utility).

Anyone have a clue how to solve the problems with invisible/slow disks? The invisible disk is called 'Indigo' (But I can still use and see the disk called 'Backup' though). When I am trying to repair the RAID via Disk Utility this comes up:

Smart status seems to be ok:

Any clues on the problem? Is it solvable? If the disks are broken they are broken (I will not shed any tears :)

But imagine for one second that it is a regular Mac Pro. What would you've done then? This thread isn't about the to be or not to be of the Hackintosh - I am just wondering about, what I understand, a common problem in OSX. It's not a question about 'modifying a kext' or something similar. :)

But its not a regular Mac Pro so I don't have to imagine.

If your question is about Mac OS then there is also a forum for that. Mac OX (Software) ≠ Mac Pro (Hardware)

Like I said you really should be looking in the Hackintosh forums as that is what you are having issues with, a Hackintosh.

If disk utility can't repair it, one of the disks is likely failing/failed or the directory structure is so corrupt, it can't reconstruct it. Either way, you've likely lost all the data. All you can do now is reformat the array and see if it's healthy then. Then restore from a backup and carry on if you can or replace the drives if not. I would bet one of the drives is toast.

Having said that, there are situations where people have been able to repair it using Disk Utility with repeated attempts. This sounds like the definition of insanity to me, but you never know :)
