Problem with sound

There is a strange thing happenning with my Mac Mini's sound system. It eliminates middle area in stereo recordings - I can berely hear singer's voice in stereo recordings. I thought that it was loudspeaker's jack problem, but same happens with my FireWire sound card. When I am recording something in Garage Band and placing pan control in the middle - the voice is very low and it increases when I move pan regulator to the left or right. Does anybody ever have the same problem and how to solve it?

Never heard of this, do you have another Mac in the house? I would try firewire target booting from different mac to determine if its hardware or software.
