Just bought a Synology DS918+ and so far not too impressed....

Main thing I bought it for is backup for my Thunderbay DAS (so I could schedule backups and not have to worry about manually backing up to various external drives with CCC.

So I install Cloud Station Server on the NAS, create a shared folder to backup to, and install Cloud Station Backup on my iMac - so far so good...

Launch Cloud Station Backup, select the volumes I want to Backup, (about 6TB worth) click go/start or whatever...so far so good.

10 seconds later "Backup Complete!" message - er no... you haven't just backed up 6TB in 10 seconds...

Close the window and try and relaunch Cloud Station Backup - won't relaunch

Restart iMac and try and relaunch it - spinning beach ball...

Before I box this up and send it back - can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get it working? Or an alternative to CSB that I can use to backup the 4 partitions on my DAS to the NAS?

thanks

I don't really have any suggestions besides going into Settings and making sure that some folders are indeed selected for backup.

Cloud Station Backup works very well for me over Wi-Fi; MBP > Synology NAS. Much better than Time Machine for my need.

Thanks - everything seemed to resolve itself after a few restarts and it is now playing nicely with the other children...
