greetings,

my iphone recently started to freeze. it automatically goes to lock mode when it's inactive for a few seconds, but right now i am unable to "slide to unlock". the only way i am able to use the phone is by pressing the top and home buttons simultaneously which would un-freeze the phone.. but then only less than a few minutes, the phone freezes again when i try to use a program. it freezes when it's in lock mode and normal usage and i am only able to use for a few short seconds when i press the two buttons. my firmware is 1.0.2 and i've been looking all over on how to resolve this problem but am too afraid to try anything because it might turn out worse. would restoring through itunes work? i noticed this problem started occurring about a week ago after my friend installed and uninstalled a few apps (games, toys, etc.) from installer. please if anyone can help and thank you in advance!

I think you should get 1.1.1 on your phone. It can be done easily.

wouldn't that brick my phone? if possible, can you please direct me to the instructions on how to do that. thanks for your reply!

Here`s very good guide from modmyifone. Just make sure you follow the instructions correctly. I updated mine using these instructions bout 2 weeks ago without any trouble.

There are quite a few apps appearing on installer.app which claim to virginize and upgrade the iphone very easily but I dont have any experience with them so cant really tell if they work or not.
