Hallo,
I am happy user of a 2015 12" MacBook running Sierra. I bought a nice USB-C dock (OWC) that works quite well in general (especially after moving to Sierra); i have a Mac Mini running OS Server providing a Time Machine server for backup. The Mini is cable connected to a router.
If i connect my dock thru an Ethernet cable to the router, the network works just great, but after a couple of days i get a time machine corruption, and the backup must start from zero. If i keep the cable connected, i then get a corruption everyday (essentially every time i connect the MacBook to the dock). If the MacBook is connected by wifi, everything works fine.
Given the number of parts in the set up, and the fact that the dock ethernet connection seems to work for everything else, it is very difficult to point to a specific faulty element. OWC support cannot really help, because there is no indication that the problem is actually in the dock (i can understand it).
Anybody have similar experiences, or suggestions of any kind ?
Thanks,
Maurizio
