Problem with wi-fi sync

I have followed all the steps to do the wi-fi syncing on my iPhone 4s. The "sync now" button is only highlighted when I plug it into my computer and not my other charger. Does anyone know the reason? When it's plugged into my computer it does everything that the wi-fi should, but that's the only time. PLEASE HELP IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!! Thank you
