please forgive my ignorance here, I just started using my sons MacBook Pro so I am extremely new at this.

things have been going well but this morning I did something (before coffee) and now my wifi won't work.

the internet shows an x in the icon on the top of the page. when I click it, it reads wifi: not configured.

I have gone in to network under says pref and deleted thunderbolt bridge, reader it and is now inactive. clicked on the + sign and tried to create wifi but nothing shows up in the list on the left side of page.

list shows : Ethernet, FireWire, Bluetooth pan and thunderbokt bridge: all show red buttons except thunderbolt (inactive).

I have used the "assist me" button, select my wifi but then after entering my wifi password it won't accept the password. says password invalid (it's definitely not).

help. maybe I changed an address in the network settings or clicked a box I shouldn't have, I don't know.
