Problems after enabling FileVault

I recently turned on FileVault and encrypted my boot drive. I'm on 10.11.5 with a retina iMac.

Since then, I've been having several problems that I wasn't having before, including:

• Crashes when the computer goes to sleep, or wakes from sleep; I have to hold the power button down on the back of the iMac to restart
• Crashes on restart. When I do maintenance and the computer is supposed to restart, it shuts down instead
• Problems with drag and drop and other mouse/tablet input issues

Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to have FileVault on, but this is seriously interfering with my work.

I would be surprised if the problem was file vault.

Open Disk Utility, click on Macintosh Hard Drive in the left panel and run either Verify Disk or Disk First Aid depending on which version of Disk Utility you have.

Does those issues appear before turning on FileVault?

Never heard of FV2 doing this.

Me thinks there is a possible underlying problem with the HDD.
