I have been having problems with purchasing apps and doing updates of existing apps where it would tell me "We could not complete your purchase...." and then below it, it would say "cancelled." Then later on, it would work. Is anyone else having this same problem?

yes had that same problem - in my case I recently had my credit card replaced and had to log into "Apple ID" and update the credit card info - new expiry date etc.

after that all was good and back to normal

Same problem here. After waiting a while, the apps downloaded normally.

Same here since a few month!
-> Workaround concerning the updates: Refreshing the update page (cmd-R in the Mac App Store 'update' tab) fixes this issue — which comes back from time to time.

Same problem here, for a couple of months. My workaround is to log in to my account press reset and then press save. Sometimes this works directly and some times I have to do it twice. I suspect it has to do with one of the security updates.
