Hello All, I have a small (23GB) iPhoto Library folder that I've trying to copy into iDisk - without success. [Just looking for 'cloud' back up.]

Has anyone else competed this process before? Tips, hints..?

Cheers

Assuming you've purchased more than 20GB of storage on Apple's servers, have you tried uploading from the me.com/idisk page? Or perhaps use a client such as Transmit to upload it. The finder is pretty flaky...

If you are trying to upload your entire iphoto library I don't think that will work. Your iPhoto Library is not a folder or files per say... It is a "package" and I don't think iDisk can deal with that file type. Maybe you could compress the file first (by right clicking and choosing compress file) then move that new compressed file to your desktop, then to iDisk (this will also make the upload smaller)... Maybe that will work - Hope this helps :)

Cheers for the help. I think that the iPhoto file is there, but iDisk cannot sync it across other computers. Frustrating.

Will try the compress option, but really I was hoping for an automated solution (using CCC to just push it up...).

How do other people automate an iPhoto back up to a cloud destination?

Doesn't the Backup program that comes with MobileMe allow for backing up of iPhoto to the cloud?

Not at my Mac at the moment so can't check, but I thought this only allowed for backup of iPhoto to CD/DVD? I never saw the point of this. If it does allow backup of iPhoto to the cloud then I've been missing a trick! Still, my iPhoto database would exceed my iDisk allocation by quite a way...
