ive got a problem after installing a game ( tryed splinter cell and silent hill 4)
i get the message ...programmable Vertex/Pixel Shader not supported... but thats a little bit ...strange:confused: .
wow runs wonderful under osx but silent hill under XP(Boot Camp) not ? Can someone help me ??? :( :( :( :(

Yeah, that's just a matter of the vid card on the MacBook not being able to support the game. As good as WoW looks, it doesn't utilize very many "high-end" graphics card features, and really shouldn't be used as a comparison (except that other games should follow their lead :p).

yeah but as i know the integrated graphic card in the mac book supports vertex shader 2.0 but why not 1.1 also the error says that i need a minumum 32 mb vram card macbook > 64 inegrated mb ram Oo ... cant understand that. people talk about running cs:s under xp or other games. why not silent hill?? :( COD or doom are running (slow ^^) but running or unreal under OSX? a boot camp problem ?

a game under mac OSX and a game under windows employed different technique, probably DirectX vs. OpenGL

directx 9 already installed
Its quite possible that software of DX9 doesn't solve the problem, since u can install DX9 on very old graphic card that doesn't spt the tech. You may want to check game's website to see if they spt the Intel GMA 950 under windows.

Microsoft* DirectX* 9 Hardware Acceleration Features:
Pixel Shader 2.0

Volumetric Textures

Shadow Maps

Slope Scale Depth Bias

Two-Sided Stencil

Microsoft* DirectX* 9 Vertex Shader 3.0 and Transform and Lighting supported in software through highly optimized Processor Specific Geometry Pipeline (PSGP)

Texture Decompression for DirectX* and OpenGL*

OpenGL* 1.4 support plus ARB_vertex_buffer and EXT_shadow_funcs extensions and TexEnv shader caching

thats supported by the graphic card whats the differents between 1.1 and 3.0 vertex shader ?

I knew its VERY different, but i don't know detail, you might check wiki if you really want to know the difference.
