Problems pushing email to any created folders in Exchange 2003/2007

Is anyone else having a problem where new messages delivered to non-system mailbox folders (anything other than the Inbox). So say you created a few folders and used some filtering in Exchange 2003 or 2007 (I tested both). Messages that arrive in these folders do not get pushed to the iPhone? If I manually go to the folder when I am in the mailbox (on the iPhone) it will go and fetch it and notify me of the new message.

The push works properly when it is delivered to the Inbox but the Push does not work to any of the subfolders or manually created folders in the mailbox.

Infact, on first sync it doesnt even notify me that there are unread messages in these subfolders. I have to manually go to these folders (which do show up) and as soon as I go to them I the email starts to fetch.

I have tried this under 2 different Exchange servers (different Exchange organizations, different networks) with the same poor results. Anyone else facing this issue?



This is a pretty crucial function, I don't know anyone who keeps all their Exchange email in their Inbox, everyone uses custom folders and filtering.

subfolders and new message counts

I am experiencing the same issue. I checked the apple forums and this is what I found. I think its an active sync / apple issue. If anyone else found it to work on the 3G or non-3G iPhones please post.

we have both types and the issue stands that incoming mail that hits subfolders do not show a unread message count unless you manually enter that folder which activates the download.

I checked all the settings on the phone to drive multiple combinations to see if it was a push issue or not. all setting changes yielded the same results.

This has been fixed

With the release of Iphone software 3.0 this has since been fixed and can now be resolved by navigating to ...

>Mail, Contacts, Calendar
>Select the exchange account
>Mail Folders to Push
>Check the folders you wish to push
