Guys, I need some assistance please.

I'm unable to restore my iPhone 11 to iOS 14 - I keep getting the following message "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. The requested resource was not found".

I did have the iOS 14 Beta installed, but have removed the Profile but am still getting this message. I was though able to Backup thankfully.

How can I restore my phone to stock?

Hi,

How are you trying to restore the firmware? Are you either using iTunes, or Finder, or a 3rd party? It seems odd that if you are using official apple software that you would have that error. At any rate, you can download the firmware manually directly from apple using the link below;

Select your device and the latest iOS at the time(Currently 14.6).

From there it depends on how you would restore, it is based on if you have a Windows PC, or a Mac.

PC: Shift key and click Restore in iTunes
Mac: Option key and Restore in Finder

In both cases, you have to hold the keyboard button while you click restore, then you can point to the IPSW file that you downloaded. As long as the IPSW is actively signed by apple, it will restore

Good luck :)

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. I'm using iTunes and El Capitan (yup, I'm Old School).

I haven't downloaded any IPSW files. Where can I get these?

Hi bud,

No worries at all. I will link the website. This is a 3rd party site but the firmware files are actually from Apple's CDN. I believe that you would still need to hold the Option Key while clicking Restore in itunes, then point to the firmware,

Thanks Sam. That worked a treat :) I then updated to a back-up and I now have 15gb back on my storage. Phew!
