Hey everyone,
so I hooked up my macbook to my 40 inch lcd via the dvi to hdmi adapter..

however on my lcd tv the whole screen is not filled with the image it's only a portion of the center of the screen that displays my macbooks' image...

how can I stretch it or make the display full screen?
I think it has something to do with resolution but if the macbooks max res is 1200x800 how can I have my lcd tv display the output image on the entire screen?
thanks in advance

Apparantley it seems that I cannot use my lcd's full resolution with the macbook open acorrding to this http://www.livingdigitally.net/2006/10/using_an_extern.html

i'm gonna try that..just seems weird that I would have to do that

I have my macbook hooked up to a 37" 1920x1080p lcd tv with no problems, whether my macbook is open or closed, and I can span the monitors as well - dragging windows onto either screen.

i believe that if you have mirrioring on, then then external display is limited to the same res as the internal screen ie. 1280x800. Turn on extended desktop, that should solve it, the macbook is capable of extending and mirroring.
