Problems with 2011 Base Mini

So I got my Mini back in September and immediately upgraded the RAM to 16gb. I haven't had any problems with my Mini until today. I have my Mini set to turn on 10 minutes before I get home from school. When I went to go get started on my homework (30 minutes after school about) my Mini was still on the login page. No big deal right? I turn my Mini off and restart it but this time it pulls up the normal boot-up screen but with a bunch of text to the left of it. I restart it again and it boots perfectly normal but for some reason whenever I try to use iTunes my computer goes to a blank screen for about 10 seconds and then goes back to normal saying iTunes has crashed. Everything has worked perfectly fine until today so does anyone know what the problem could be?
