My dad just got his first iPhone 2 days ago. In order to check his office voicemail from somewhere other than his office, he must:

  1. Call a certain number.
  2. Wait to hear a voice.
  3. Press "**"
  4. Wait for a voice.
  5. Press "(his extension)(4 digit code)##"
  6. Listen to voicemail.

However, since using the iPhone, the voice doesn't sound after pressing "**". If he uses any other phone, it works. Any help? He sees this as a big problem.

This is a common problem with certain networks. The "**" (double star) is sometimes the code used to disconnect. I would suggest when making the call, give a slight pause between the two stars and see if that helps. Beyond that, see if there is an alternative, or complain the people that run the voice mail.

Nope, didn't work, but thanks. Any other help?
