I am wondering if there is any help with this, My mail app in El Capitan crashes on a regular bases, is there a reason for this? And then more recently my calendar app crashes every time I try to create a new calendar, is this fixable?

Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder and run First Aid on your Hard Drive. If that does not help let us know.

Thanks for the advice, it's a brand new MacBook Pro, 5 months old. I will do what you suggested. I highly doubt it will be the cause, I have also run the first aid utility before, with no issues detected. Will keep you updated.

Is your Mail issue similar to the one in this thread?

I did what was suggested here, no issue with the mail app as of yet but my calendar app still crashes when I try to create a new calendar. Seems very specific at this point, could be a code error.

Something has been corrupted. I think you may be headed towards backing everything up (if it's not in the cloud), removing all calendars and subscriptions, removing the Calendar data in ~/Library/Calendars and then re-establishing your calendars from scratch.

Someone else may come up with something simpler...hopefully.
