Hi

I have been trying to download some large files ie. 2.5 - 2.9 Gb from K2S for the last week. Given the slower free connection speeds Firefox estimates it takes about 12 or so hours to download. The download happens with the .rar file itself and a .rar.part file.

However, after some hours and this is very frustrating it will do either of the following:

1. Fail - the .part file and .rar file will still be in Downloads. I can resume the download but it will fail again later.

2. The download restarts by itself from scratch.

3. Fail - the .part file and .rar file disappear from Downloads.

I also have instances with smaller files when the .part file and .rar file both disappear while the download nears completion. Then when the download tries to complete it cannot find the said files and cannot complete thus failing.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I can't recall this happening in Mojave.

Thanks

The most likely reason for this sort of behavior is if

a) the remote server closes the connection, or
b) the connection is interrupted

It is very likely that this is merely a coincidence and is not related with your upgrade to 10.15 at all.

Thanks for getting back.

It's the Mac for sure (dunno if it's Catalina). I did the same downloads on an old PC also running Firefox - no problems there. Took a long time but both downloads completed without issue.
