i've installed and can run Eclipse on my MBP, but everytime i go to write code, i create a workspace and then a java class. during the java class creation process it says it is not recommended to use the default package and i think that is what is causing most of my issues.

i write code, but then when i go to compile it, i get silly errors telling me to get rid of the brackets that go after method statements and such...

thanks in advance for any help.

using the default package is frowned upon, but it won't cause compile errors. Post your code or screenshots so people can better offer assistance. Would help to see the text of the errors you are getting too.
