iPod Problems with Gift Certificates today?

I went to iTunes to redeem a gift card today, it's one bought in the UK, where I am and my account is.

Entered the code only to get the "unrecognized code" error for the first 5 attempts. Then it took me to the support page and asked me to enter the card serial number, and when I did it gave me the attached message.

Is anyone else getting this today, or are other people being successful?

I haven't tried adding a certificate to my account, but I tried to download an application and it gave me this message:

"Store Credit Unavailable
Due to a problem with the iTunes Store, your store credit balance is temporarily unavailable for use in purchasing music; you may continue purchasing using a different method of payment."

My account now indicates a balance of $0.00. Interestingly, I haven't been getting charged from the store for over a week.

Ive had the same problem, however for the past week the price of things has been deducting, but now my credit has just dissapeared, strange..

I had a similar problem a few minutes ago, I went to update one of my apps (for free), and I got a message saying:

Store Credit Unavailable

Except I was downloading a free update to a free app, and haven't used any form of gift certificates or anything that would warrant a credit balance for over 2 years now. I only use a credit card on the iTunes store, and have been using the same one for about a year now.

But restarting iTunes fixed this problem.

Half-assed workaround...

Having the same issue with "credit problems" not allowing me to add free apps or update existing apps... but I'm able to do so via the iPhone.

...So I'm loading all of my apps under 10MB onto my iPhone, updating them there, and then re-syncing the iPhone to update my computer. Pain in the butt, and I hope Apple fixes this soon.

I just upgraded to 2.2.1 today; don't know if that has anything to do with it or not...

That exact same thing is happening to me! What a pain. I just want to buy some music with the $25 I just spent on an itunes card...

The same thing just happened to me, and I haven't used a gift card in iTunes for a few months, so that's not it. However, I just restarted iTunes and was able to download my album (Of Montreal), without a problem from there on out.

I'm having similar issues. I had 20 something dollars left on my gift card and when I went to buy a song tonight it said it couldn't redeem the credit and that I could continue shopping using an alternative purchasing method. The credit value I had left, highlighted in yellow near the search bar, disappeared as well. Lame...

I had the problem yesterday, and I still have it. My credit is gone. I contacted by email yesterday, and still haven't receive any response. The customer service is losing a lot of points lately. Also, I can see some people suing Apple for not be able to access to their money.
