Whenever i set up gmail exchange on my iphone running 9.2 , it keeps telling me i have entered the incorrect password.

Anyone experienced this / know how to solve it . Thanks in advance

There is a security setting in your G-Mail account to allow more insecure logins. This is most likely the issue, you need to enable it.

Cant seem to find the setting. I have 2 step enabled may be thats causing the issue?

Does gmail exchange even work on iOS still? I thought Google disabled it a few years back?

I created an app specific password and it worked. But now it doesn't retrieve emails. Says cannot retrieve from server

It's still available for paying Google Apps customers.

OP: Out of interest, why use Exchange and not the native Google option, or the Gmail and Google Calendars apps?

The native google option doesn't allow push.
The gmail app is a bit buggy but i will have to continue using it i suppose
