Anyone having problems with Home Sharing after enabling 2 Factor Authentication?

I previously had 2 Factor Verification set-up, but thought I'd update to the newer version. Now I'm struggling to get Home Sharing working on any of my iOS and tvOS devices.

iOS devices just won't accept the apple id password, and don't even prompt for 2nd code. tvOS does at least ask for the 2nd code, but I still can't access my iTunes library. I've logged in and out on all devices several times (at least where I can log back in) but no dice.

Any ideas?

Do you have this trouble logging in only in the homesharing section, or also in in the iCloud and iTunes store sections of the settings? They are separate (i.e. it is possible to use a separate login for each section). If you haven't done so yet, try logging out and back in in all sections in the settings that use an Apple ID (and also in iTunes).

As a data point, I'm using homesharing with the new 2FA and it works fine.

I think part of the problem is my two Apple ID's. My 1st Apple ID was created when I started using iTunes with an iPod, and this is still my main Apple ID for Apps and purchases. When I got a MBA I signed up for a MobileMe account, which eventually became an iCloud account and another Apple ID. This is used for my mail and calendars, so it the one logged in on my iOS devices. I'd loved it if I could merge them together, but it's been a problem long enough that I can't see Apple fixing it.

I've managed to get my aTV4 connected to home sharing, but am still struggling with one of the iOS devices as I don't get asked for a 2FA code.

Home Sharing just uses "an Apple ID". It does not need to be the one you use for iCloud, or the one you use for iTunes. If you do not want to create a third , I suggest you try the other one if you have not done that already.

I use two AppleIDs, one for iTunes and one for iCloud. Has not caused any trouble (yet).

Thanks, but the last think I need is ANOTHER Apple ID :D

Because I want all my devices to sync mail, calendar, contacts, etc. they are all logged into the iCloud Apple ID. iTunes is using my original Apple ID, so when it send a 2FA request there are no devices logged in to receive it, so I end up having to resort back to sending it via SMS. A 3rd ID will just make that even worse.

For the times I use it, it's not a big problem as there are other workarounds, and now it's connected on the aTV4 (ended up logging in to iCloud using my original ID and then setting up Home Sharing) I can live without it on my iOS devices.
