I don't think the issues are as widespread as they appear. In both the official a pple discussions and these, you have a very small community centered on a very specific theme. The majority of people really aren't having any problems.

Like my thread about 'world's perception of america' I think we are just focusing on the problems because its uninteresting to hear only good news all the time, and because they are so new. If you want me to start a thread listing the many posts about how people love their new products, I could.

Seriously though, how many success stories can you read before getting bored? Past PPC Macs had problems, I can note several recalls on PBs alone.

there are going to be some bugs anyway since it was a clean chip switch, not everything can be expected or predicted, besides, I think Apple replaces or at least refunds any defunct products or annoyed consumers.

Without turning this into a flame filled political discussion... You really hit the spot there. I couldn't agree more.
Oh yeah, as for my MBP... NOT ONE PROBLEM YET!:)

There's always going to be defects etc. I think just a couple posts about a couple problems really isnt anything to worry about. There are so many Mac users on this forum that the ratio to problems to non problems seems pretty small so far. We'll see as more people get them though.
