Having problems with mac windows dissappearingf or being impossible tio find or get to. Just recently moved over from win, soi that is where my expectations come from....

So right now I have a window on one screen (I have three including the MBP 16") its chrome and it was maximized. But now it has disappeared and I have no idea where it is or how to get to it. It slid off.... how do I get iot back?

My second real problem is working in a program that opens a dialog. For instance, Photoshop. I just opened that.... and the "flash screen opened in one window, and Ps itself opened in another. I do something (like say add a gaussian blur) and the dialog box opens in a window OTHER than where Ps is. Or (and FAR worse) it opens UNDER photoshop and I cant get to it and I have to crash the program to do anything because I canty get to the dialog to click OK to proceed.

Is there a windows manager, or a way to get things to open all on the same monitor in a more proper layer order?

Very frustrating.

The second issue about apps having windows in different windows (spaces) sounds like an issue with spaces. You might want to brush up on setting up and using "spaces" (basically separate desktops where different apps appear - very useful once you establish your setup). When you right click on an application in the dock and choose "options" you may assign the app to the current space, all spaces, or non (which is kinda like all) - if an app is scattered like photoshop - set it to "none." Then go o the desktop where you would like all photoshop windows to default to and specify THAT desktop (or set it to all desktops or none if you want the app to cross over all spaces). I DK if that is your issue but t sort of sounds like it to me so maybe that will help. Good luck

yeah, the first problem is related to spaces. A full-screen app is in its own space. That's actually different than a zoomed window. If you didn't change your hot keys, then CTL with left or right arrow will switch to different spaces and you should find your Chrome. There is a subtlety though; you might have separate spaces for each display (it's a setting in System Preferences). The CTL left/right arrow will address whatever display has your mouse pointer.

If that's the issue, then yeah, brush up on spaces.

Your second problem is one I occasionally encounter - dialog boxes appearing on the wrong monitor. I don't know how to solve that.

The dialog box under the window is a problem I've never seen. Perhaps CMD-` will get you to it. That switches between windows of the same application and the dialog is probably just another window.
