Problems with MacBook Pro Battery

Recently my battery keeps dying much quicker than it used to. When there's around 20%-30% charge left it will usually shut down now. I'm not sure what to do at this point. It's health at the moment is at 56% and has a total of 28 cycles. Do I have a defective battery? I bought the Macbook Pro back in July of 07 so I'm sure the warranty is still intact. What should I do?

PS: Yes I have been calibrating my battery at least once a month.
 
I'm in the same boat.

Apple's replaced my battery once. That one had completely died. Now, I need to call them again and get this one replaced. It was unplugged for 10 minutes and now it tells me that it is running on reserve power at 47%. Also, the battery is so trashed, it won't even calibrate. I leave it charge for 5 hours + then run it completely dry, or at least try to. The battery doesn't even get to the deep sleep mode because it shuts off completely.

Also, my computer doesn't go to sleep automatically anymore. I'm hoping a new battery fixes that. If not, I'll only need one more problem and I'll have a new laptop!

I just got off the phone with Greg with AppleCare and he has a new battery on it's way to my door at no charge. It should arrive in a few days and all I need to do is send the old one back, once I verify the new one works properly.

I hope apple can be as accommodating for you as they were for me!

I don't know what criteria Apple uses, but mine had 98 cycles and had lost over 3500mA of it's original capacity, which, the applecare guy said is "definitely not right."
 
Over the past couple of weeks (since leopard) my battery has been disgusting! Each percent is going down every minute . . .and from 100% i have about "70mins remaining" on my battery. It's less than 7 months old as well and was working fine before leopard.

Anybody else suffering from this?
 
I called the other day and they told me I definitely needed a replacement. I should be getting mine tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated.
 
Just received the new battery and everything seems to be working fine now. Health is back to 99%. :)
