I'm having an issue with my music App...

For some reason the Artists grouping I set for the iPod on iTunes is not carrying over to my iPhone 4S. For instance on iTunes I have all my Dave Matthews songs listed under Dave Matthews Band on iTunes, but on my phone they are split up between Dave Matthews & Dave Matthews Band. This isn't a huge deal, but I like to keep my music organized and now I randomly have music for 1 artist split up on my phone.

Anyone come across this?

To fix this, select all of your Dave from within iTunes and select 'Get Info'. Make sure that the artist and album artist are the same. This way, your device can't separate them.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I've tried that and for some reason it is not working. I had a few weird things happen after the transition from my 3GS to my 4S. The issue I mentioned above (which was not happening on my 3GS) and a few of my album art covers for some reason would show up for the song(s) on iTunes, but on my iPhone they would not be there.

Also, I had an 80s music comp I bought from Apple years ago and I didn't want all of the different artists scattered throughout my music list so I labeled them all "Bad 80s music" for the artists & album, and they all stayed together. Now on the 4s some of the music stayed with the "bad 80s music" and others are now scattered out by original artists. Not sure what's going on here.

I wish I could help you. Before iOS 5 released, I noticed on my Apple TV that one artist was listed twice. When I went to iTunes they all looked the same. I changed the artist info and it fixed it. It's weird how some things work in iTunes. I hope you can get it all worked out.
