I have several questions related to my new iMac 27''. First of all, I have a severe yellow tinge everywhere but the top left. Second, the hard drive makes loud grinding noises while booting. I will take it to the Apple store to have these looked into, but I have no faith that if I RMA'd to Amazon and got a replacement it wouldn't have the same problems.

My other annoyances relate to the wireless keyboard and magic mouse. The keyboard works fine within OS X, but while it is first booting, if I hold down the Option key, nothing happens. Within Windows 7, it refuses to work at all. I did get the Magic Mouse to work for half an hour, but when I rebooted, it stopped working. I have installed the Bootcamp 3.1 update, but that didn't fix anything.

I'm really getting frustrated with this computer. I want to love it, but there are so many problems with it. What should I do?

Search for any of the other threads about those issues.

Yellow tint, wireless mouse and keyboard problems and loud HDD noise are often, if not more, discussed here.

And now, the wireless keyboard works without problems in Windows, but the mouse does not.

Also, I've noticed that the yellow tinge seems to be more severe in OS X. Maybe there's hope for some kind of calibration.

One more thing: When I have my external speakers plugged into the iMac, the CPU usage in Windows 7 goes to almost 100% for one core, but when I unplug them, it goes to 0% again. Yet another bug in the updated boot camp drivers...

Sounds like you're on the right track by taking it to the store first. May just have a bad one. Either way, Apple will make it right.

I replaced mine 2 times in 3 days. First one I was still in the store getting ready to walk out and I noticed a hole in the box and a busted screen. They returned and replaced it. That one had the video hardware flicker/roll mentioned everywhere. They returned and replaced it. My third one seems to be holding on strong. That's why I always put electronic purchases on my AMEX so I get the double warranty.

Good luck!
