I recently downloaded Fallout: New Vegas from this source, and I've been experiencing a problem. I open New Vegas, and it and does not run the game program - instead it closes the window and opens itself a few moments later.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: the game file says, on startup: "Error: Launching wineserver failed! No new wineserver PID found!"

I think i got an email on this... I'm like 3 weeks behind in answering messages sent into Wineskin (life's been a pain...), and I know someone was asking about this same thing.

Thats an older version of Wineskin used to port that I think... so there might be some bugs that happen on certain systems (with that 2.0 RC release it might be buggy on multi-monitor systems too).

If you right click the app and select Show Package Contents, you can find Wineskin.app inside and run that. In Advanced, you can do a Test run, so after it fails you should be able to get the error logs and see if anything pops out as to why its failing to start the wineserver.

Nothing is jumping out in the logs telling me what to look for...

you might try over at portingteam.com where that port actually came from. There are some threads and a download there for it... maybe the person who put it together might be able to help, or just looking through several posts on the forum about it might have an answer... unless you just have an incompatible GPU... which happens to people from time to time.
