Good evening to you all.
I purchased myself an Iphone towards the end of October last year. Once home & unwrapped , I went about setting up the wireless connection with my Orange Livebox broadband connection. The phone found the connection with no problems & once I input the pass code & pressed the correct button on the livebox for pairing , it connected with no problems.
This has been fine with no WiFi connection problems..........up until yesterday morning. I noticed that when I walked into the house , it was staying in 3G mode. I went into my settings on the phone/WiFi connection & the Livebox was there as normal. I touched to select & after about 5 seconds it informed me that it was unable to join Livebox - 2068 Network. Now I just put this down to gremlins , however after trying throughout the evening , it still wouldn't pair.
I have come home this evening & once through the door , noticed that it still wont pair via WiFi. I contacted O2 & got put through to their Iphone helpdesk. I explained the problem & she asked me to reset the settings. This then rebooted the phone & then restarted. Once started , it then recognised the Livebox , however once I put the pass code in again & put it in pair mode , it just comes back with the Unable to connect to Livebox-2068 Network.
Now I just have a feeling that once I start phoning 02 & Orange , each will deny it's their problem & I can see me going round it circles going slowly mad.
Does anyone know what the problem could be , & at whos end it lies. Remember , when I go into my phone settings it says next to WiFi " Not Connected " When Ithen touch this it takes me to the screen where it says Choose a Network. Underneath this it says LiveBox - 2068 (so it's recognising the connection somewhere) When I then touch the Livebox connection , after about 5 seconds it says " Unable to connect to Livebox 2068 Network "
I also have a laptop connected via this connection & it appears to be working fine , my Nokia N95 also recognises this connection.
Any help greatly appreciated.
PS. On Iphone s/ware 2.2
Regards James
