Is anybody else having problems loading their Gmail page using Safari 3.0.4 on their Macbook Air? I never had any problems with my MBP but now my Gmail page will not load most of the time and it has no problems when I switch to Firefox. It's a little frustrating since I love Safari and don't like having to switch to Firefox just to check my e-mails.

Also had problems posting a new thread on Macrumors with this version of Safari...would not continue past the page where it wanted me to confirm that I was posting in Macbook Air section since my post count was less than 20. Firefox worked normally (Having to use Firefox to post this thread now)

I am a little disappointed because until now all of my Apple stuff I bought has just worked with everything. I still love my Macbook Air though.

I've not had any problems with Safari and gmail. I am running 3.0.4 as well, and have done the update to 10.5.2 (and the graphics update).

I also have no problems posting here. In fact, I haven't gotten around to downloading firefox. The MBA is my first mac notebook and I wanted to learn and get used to the trackpad gestures (and I am given to understand that not all work with firefox)

I've been having a ton of problems with gmail and safari since I moved to Leopard. I am on the latest update as well, and it didn't help with the problems much, if at all. Gmail and safari need to get their act together, because I'm tired of having to run two different browsers.

I have found that it helps a lot if you just run the html version of gmail.

Thanks for the feedback...I wish I knew what the difference was between those who don't have problems those who do. I'm fully updated with 10.5.2 the graphics update etc.

*Plenty* of Google trouble today

Hi,

I'm running Safari 3.0.4. Yesterday I noticed that my gmail account had the gtalk facility built in but today, nothing's working: I only ever get the "Loading ..." message but no more.

Google Calendar also not working correctly today - it can't see any of my calendars and is not rendering correctly at all.

I attempted to report all these issues to google via their help pages, but oddly, it wouldn't send due to an incorrect gmail account (trust me, it was correct, I have a PC (shudder) and it's working just fine over there)

Anyone else reporting these symptoms today? It's rather unlike Google/Apple

Still having problems with Gmail freezing in Safari...happened today. I can't get a refresh or even restarting the browser doesn't help. All of my other pages load just fine. Makes me wonder what happened between Google and Apple.

I just use Firefox and I don't have any problems. I don't use Google Calendar so I'm not sure how that's working with Safari. And Google talk seems to work for me as long as everything isn't frozen up.

Same problem here!

running Safari 3.0.4 on an iBook G4 with os x 10.4.11. Gmail stops in the "Loading..." page and in the rare occasion it loads, it is frozen. Everything works fine in Firefox. Also, a bit before this problem started, the gmail notifier started acting weird: I get the icon in the menu bar and it makes the "new mail sound" when there is mail, BUT it does not become blue and indicating the number of unread messages...

I have three issues with gmail:

1. drop down addresses not working consistently. i thought this was resolved a month ago but sometimes it still doesn't work right. Seems to be a safari & gmail issue. firefox OK.

2. Loading...loading....and doesn't finish loading. This is unique to the MBA, have not seen this on my MBP, mini, or Mac pro--all running leopard.

3. Attachments---Microsoft Word 2008 documents are being transformed into a MIME file which means that quicktime attempts to open the document instead of word. This just came up last night on the MBA and have not tried it on the other Macs. The workaround is to ZIP each document before attaching.

hmm...

without doing anything, gmail started working fine in Safari a couple of hours after I wrote the post above! As for the Gmail notifier, I installed the newer version and it works fine.

Same boat, it started just maybe once a day, now it's a couple times a day.

Problems with Gmail, and calendar on Safari 3.0.4

Hi,
I have a Macbook with Leopard 10.5.2 and Safari 3.0.4 and periodically Gmail won't finish Loading or it won't let me click on anything - restarting Safari usually fixes these problems, but my calendar won't load at all on my Mac - even in Firefox. It just gives me a blank screen and the address bar goes into a never ending loop with lots of characters and rendering in it. I have to use my windows box to look at my Calendar - what a pain! Any suggestions?

Thanks
