Today I decided to reinstall Safari on my family's computer, since it's been hiccping lately. I deleted Safari and everything it was attached to, and used IE to download the latest version of Safari from Apple.com. When I ran the Installer program after downloading, it said that I can't install Safari because "The system cannot use this software" and that "You cannot install the software on this volume."

I am running OS 10.3.2.

Help!

try deleting the ~/Library/Caches/Safari folder and restarting safari. i didn't know you can even download safari separately from the os anymore, it's not meant to be "reinstalled".

Duff-Man says....the download of Safari is the "old" version - it will not run on 10.3 and there is no d/l from apple of the 10.3 (v1.1.1) version. What you need to do is get a copy of Pacifist and extract Safari from the 10.3 install disk.....oh yeah!
