Recently I've been loosing signal everywhere I go, so I decided to go to a near by AT&T store, spoke to a rep he took my sim card out & guess what... My sim was totally fried. :(
The rep ask me how did I manage to fry my sim. I told him that I had no clue. Anyways..... If your having problems with 3g or full bars why don't you check your sim. Look to see if there's any damage to it, if so get a new sim, you won't have problems anymore. I have 3g and full bars everywhere I go. :D

question

So could this possibly be the same problem solver with my 1st gen iphone?
I just bough it recently from a friend, and I was wondering if having a cingular sim card would be bad for the phone? (haha yeah i've been with them that long) should i go and ask for an updated at&t sim card??

It might be the problem but first take out the sim and make sure it's not burnt or damage. (but either way get the AT&T 3g sim card). I have a 2g iphone lying around in my house, I use it every now and then but I had a sperate sim card. Never had a problem with losing service.
