I have my macbook pro for about 2-3 months. I never really shutdown my pro, i never did so with my old ibook either and never had a problem. The only time ill do so is if i do a software update. Now here in lies the problem; when i wakt the computer from sleep by opening the lid, the computer wakes up but the screen stays blanks for about 30 seconds at the quickest my password box will pop up. Anyone have any clue as to why this happens?

This developer took a good idea a step further. I'd highly recommend SmartSleep. What are the results without password? Do you use multiple user accounts?

This is actually a common bug and as of right now, there is no fix. I'm sure Apple knows about this issue, and hopefully they'll release a firmware update soon. You'll just have to deal with it for the time being unfortunately.

Thanks for the insight. I was hoping that someone else out there had a similiar issue. Let's hope that the firmware update comes out sooner, rather than later.
