I would like to see how many problems Macbook owners have had with their trackpad. Even after unselecting that avoid accidental movements checkbox my trackpad is basically dead.

weird, sounds like its a very isolated problem. I didn't have trouble with my MB and don't have trouble with my MBP. Is it the same off the install cd? Also, don't get offended, you do have all settings set properly right? I some times have trouble if i have been walking around on the carpet and build up a static charge, on the MBP anyways.

I've seen the problem popup on this and many other Apple forums, it seems like a somewhat common problem. I am taking it in tomorrow to get replaced/fixed as it's still under warranty but I want to know if this problem might reoccur.

No offense taken, but I have tried many different settings to no avail. I can't even move the cursor right now.

I had a problem with the mouse button, but not the actual trackpad itself. The actual button was then replaced.

I'm not sure if this is classified as part of the trackpad, but the right side of my clicker did not register correctly. However, I took it into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and it works properly now.
