Ahoy.

I am the lucky owner of a MBP from july, the i7-model 15". I recently installed Windows 7 in order to play more games than possible in OS X, including CS 1.6, but I've run into some problems.

I plugged in my Samsung Syncmaster 959nf using a standard issue Apple VGA-converter (picture below), but I can't run CS 1.6 with 100 HZ in 640x480 or 800x600 like I can on my stationary XP-PC.

How come? Do I need some extra software, is it a known Win7-problem, or is it the converter or GFX that causes this problem?

Looks like other folks are having problems with the syncmaster 959nf and Windows 7...

It may behoove you to try to find monitor specific drivers like the chaps in that forum suggest. Though, I can't rule out that MDP to VGA adapter... I haven't played with it, but I know my Macbook Pro (2008) DVI adapter doesn't output to a full 1900x1200 resolution; but it does with the VGA adapter.

Funny thing is: OS X can run 640x480/100hz/32bit. Win7 can't. This is probably due to the driver.

Which one would you recommend for gaming (FPS-games), GeForce 330M 512mb?
