In my MBP Retina 13 Late 2012 a process named "core" pops up and consumes a lot of CPU, with the Energy score around 100. It heats the CPU to the point the fan is set to the highest.

I do a force quit on it and it comes back to life sort of randomly. It may take 2 minutes to half an hour.

It is launched by the "launchd" and run as root. There are no apparent change after killing it, except that the CPU/energy scores go down dramatically.

There are other "core" processes that are frequently active but gets a 0.1 Energy score.

I use mainly Mail, Numbers and Safari with lots of pages and tabs.

The hungry core process shows up with no relation to what apps are in use, and even when none are running.

If you have this problem or know how to solve it, please contact me.

Thanks
