I own several sport bands, genuine and knockoff. I finally decided to get a genuine Product Red band, I've always wanted it. The first thing I noticed about it is that it almost feels like the silicone knockoffs. It's not as smooth and definitely feels like it will be more of a lint magnet. None of my other genuine bands feel like this. Has anyone else experienced this with the product red?

That It is strange. I actually purchased a Product Red Apple Watch when it launched. And I would compare the Product Red band to the Apple Watch white sport band. It's very soft, dense and supple feeling. Perhaps Apple change something in their process with manufacturing that specific color.

It might also have something to do with the way they age. I bought this product red one used on eBay. It came with both the s/m half and the m/l half. The s/m half feels a bit more silicone-like while the m/l half feels like my brand new turquoise sport band that I got on clearance at walmart 2 weeks ago. I'm assuming the seller wore the s/m half while the m/l sat around in a drawer and now has a different feel to it.

That very well could be. Just from somebody else wearing it from the oils from their skin could have made the other half feel more used and the non-used half could Have given it more of a Brittle feeling.

What's the best way to clean these things? My white sport band also needs a good cleaning because it isn't looking so white anymore.

I would suggest warm soapy water and a microfiber cloth. And for more stubborn stains, just use a little bit of warm water mixed with rubbing alcohol and that should take care of any stains. That's what I always have used and my sport bands look brand-new.

I've bought about 5 sports bands, including the red. That one gave me a rash after two days of wearing it - only band that has ever given me a problem.

I just came home from work and did a side by side between my new product red band and my other sport bands, the product red feels like straight up silicone, not fluorolastomer. And I know for a fact it's genuine.
[doublepost=1500083546][/doublepost]And the color match is flawless, I almost regret getting the genuine version of this band. Good thing I only spent $28.

My product red sports band feels exactly the same as all my others. Perhaps you got the elusive dragon red.
It feels just as supple as my other genuine sport bands, not thin and light and cheap like the knockoffs. However, the surface of it feels more similar to silicone for some reason, more friction than the other genuine sport bands.

Here is a similar thread discussing the differences between the dragon Red and Product Red band. Perhaps your band is the dragon Red band.

If Apple put a product with one label into a box with a different label then they're really starting to slip. Has anyone photographed a box from a "dragon red" sport band yet?

It supposedly comes up in the system when purchasing as dragon red. No photographs they say they returned it before they could. I'm doubting its exsistense.

How is Apple starting to slip? So does the Product Red band and Dragon Red say "Red"?

The inside of the sport band had "product" written on it, it's a special designation given to products that have a portion of their proceeeds donated to AIDS research. But regardless of that, to put a product labeled one way into a box labeled another way is just very sloppy from a multi-billion dollar corporation. However; I don't believe the dragon red box actually exists.

Why are adapters black? Since when have they done this.

The right side ones look third party.
