Looking for good apps that maybe don't get recognized / promoted as much that really help boost productivity with every day tasks. I was a user of Alfred many years ago but stopped. What apps do you use to help you be more productive that you'd recommend? Bonus points for apps from indie devs or that are not subscription based. Gracias!

That's an interesting question. "Productivity" is a bit of a nebulous term that will have a definition that will vary widely depending upon what a person does where productivity matters.

Is there an area in particular that you are interested in? Office productivity? Audio creation productivity? etc.

Textsniper is very very useful and inexpensive at that.

WordService from Devonthink is a free set of services that can extend the functionality of many other apps.

Clipy is an open source clipboard manager.

Good point. I suppose general "office productivity" is what I was after. General tools/apps that make you more efficient at common or repetitive tasks. Some general thoughts:

  • Support for custom keybindings that can run scripts or just quickly copy/paste text.
  • With everything being web apps these days, is there a better way than just having 1,000 tabs open in Chrome/Safari to manage or organize everything or to make them feel more native
  • "Super User" tools that can help automate repetitive tasks

Textsniper is very very useful and inexpensive at that.

Thanks! I will checkout Textsniper - looks very good.
