Products from a "hardware company" in last few WWDCs

WWDC 2004: new Apple Cinema Display
WWDC 2005: "there will be intel macs"
WWDC 2006: Mac Pro
WWDC 2007: just one phone...
WWDC 2008: anohter phone
WWDC 2009: MacBook Pros
WWDC 2010: again just phone
WWDC 2011: new Airport & Time Capsule 2 weeks after...
WWDC 2012: new MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros
WWDC 2013: new Mac Pro, AirPort, Time Capsule and MacBook Airs
WWDC 2014: NO HARDWARE at all...!?

Last display update 992 days ago!
Mini is counting 588 days, Mini with Cuda (for niche software like After Effects, which has sold less than 100 million copies) about 1500 days, AppleTV 818 days, AirPort Express just 722 days (still 2 years before .11ac ?)...

Why they don't just lease out OsX...

So you're complaining that there was no hardware announcement for this year's WWDC?

Remember its a developer conference and the keynote highlighted specific topics for developers.

Also another thing, out of the last 13 WWDCs you listed 12 that had hardware announcements (phones, displays, computers etc). So I wouldn't say the sky is falling quite yet.

Finally, Apple is not a computer company any longer, they dropped the "computer" term from their name years ago.

World Wide Developers Conference. For developers. Who develop software. As far as I'm aware, Apple release most of their hardware in other special events they have.

The keynote was 2 hours long, with Federighi going really fast and some things hardly discussed at all. There really was no time for hardware to be announced. To me that means the fall is going to be full up with hardware announcements. So something to look foward to.

Agreed, it was the wrong place and the wrong time for such announcements. The developers are what benefited the most and that's the way it should be for the WWDC

I think the reason we didn't get any hardware announcements is there wasn't time. And Apple didn't want the keynote to spill into 3 hours. And since we didn't get spec bumped anything afterwards that makes be believe we're going to get some nice surprises this fall.

Well, obviously Steve did wrong, when announcing new hardware in WWDC. They also managed to upgrade products without using time for those in keynote.

I just don't get why only 1 product update in first half of the year and about 14 (hopefully) in the latter half. Especially when so many products are so badly outdated and the company has now the best resources in the world to make these updates.

Again, this just shows that macs and their accessories are so insignificant to company now, that there's no need to be in the frontline with them. Dragging them along is good enough.

Nope, Apple is doing fine at least for some years with iOS devices.
Macs and osX will be in trouble.
IMHO they are already in trouble. Outdated products with premium prices. Resale value of used macs are dropping, since upgrading isn't option anymore. Those who want macs will have to change their macs more frequent basis than before, which makes things even worse. Before you bought an expensive mac, used it for 3 years, upgraded it and used for another 3 years. Then again upgrading or selling it, since it still had good resale value. Now you have to buy new outdated mac, which have resale value of close to zero. TCO is skyrocketing...

Obviously there are some hardware announcements made, just need to think a little to realize the following:
- To develop with Swift you need a Mac -> this will drive Mac demand to certain extent
- Apple stock will split on Monday -> it seems that they have no need to announce hardware yet, but after the 'analysts' and free advertising have done their share of giving them momentum for the fall announcements
- all the development kits announced will increase the amount of hardware devices developed by 3rd parties that will work nicely with Apple devices
- all the App Store and cloud services that Apple is giving to developers will drive huge data mining and enable future innovation in both areas of hardware and software

In the re/code interview Eddie Cue declared that they have the best products in 25 years, call it a reality distortion field Apple mind trick or whatever you want, but there is no other option than being true to this statement.
I personally believe that Apple have a tremendous future and with the momentum they have enabling world wide development of great products by 3rd party companies they are 'doomed' to succeed.

The hardware rumors are kind of solid:
-New OS X Yosemite -> New Macs to run it and exploit it to its fullest
-iMac with Retina display or 4K
-iWatch
-iPhone 4.7"; 5.5"
- wireless Home audio

Not so clear:
- fanless MacBook
- MacMini
- Apple Display 27", 28", 30" or 32"???
- iPad spec bump?

That's true, I wished they would've slow down a bit. Since the last few WWDCs there have always been things like for example "24 new dictation languages" without specifying them just because there's no time for it. And afterwards we would have to check the Apple website to know more about it. Feels wrong to me, they should slow down. Some people are just watching the WWDC for those little things.
