program to help with forgotten password?

hi guys

this will sound dodgy but here we go....

i put some files in a disc image and added a password. Now i can't remember the password, i have some idea of it but can remember what caps i used and where etc.


Anyone know of a program i can use to try and "hack" the file, something i can give a example of what i think it is and try it with differnt caps and numbers on the end?

Have a look in you Keychain Access app in your utilities folder. This stores all of your passwords that unlock things on your Mac. All you need to remember is your account password.

There is an option for each item to view the password, it will ask you for your account password.

unfortunatly i know of this and so i don't allow the keychain to store my passwords, as all someone needs is to guess one of my passwords and they have em all!
